Grande Prairie is a modern, sophisticated City of 70,000 citizens located in the beautiful Peace River Country of Alberta. Grande Prairie and the Peace River Country have a long history in the sport of Curling producing over 40 Provincial Champions, and many Canadian and World Champions. The Grande Prairie Curling Centre has 8 sheets of excellent ice, a pro shop, games room and the 200 seat Hi Tech Shot Rock Bar and Grill which will be the venue for all social events, banquets and hospitality activities for the Championship. We are known for being a progressive club with a stellar reputation, according to Curling Alberta, for hosting major Curling Championships such as the first ever combined Alberta Men’s and Women’s Championship, Multiple Alberta Championship for U15’s, U18’s, Master’s and Mixed championships. Curling Alberta’s Championship Co-ordinator states “what truly sets the GPCC apart is its exceptional hospitality, athletes and visitors consistent praise the friendliness of staff and volunteers in supporting major events”. The Grande Prairie Curling Centre was named Alberta’s Curling Club of the Year in 2022.
